{"id":1821,"date":"1900-01-01T14:41:22","date_gmt":"1900-01-01T13:11:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.nupsaw.org.za\/?p=1821"},"modified":"2019-07-08T13:38:06","modified_gmt":"2019-07-08T11:38:06","slug":"union-rejects-pay-agreement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nupsaw.org.za\/index.php\/1900\/01\/01\/union-rejects-pay-agreement\/","title":{"rendered":"Union rejects pay agreement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stephen Grootes | 6 hours ago<br \/>\nJOHANNESBURG &#8211; The National Union of Public Service and Allied Workers (NUPSAW) on Thursday rejected the public sector pay agreement.<\/p>\n<p>The three-year agreement has been hailed by Public Service and Administration Minister Lindiwe Sisulu as allowing the government to change the way it works.<\/p>\n<p>NUPSAW, which has a membership of 30,000 said it was unhappy about a pay progression plan for workers who get promoted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are informing the public servants that they are being taken for a ride, they are not being told the full truth and an interpretation is being put to them,\u201d said the union&#8217;s General Secretary Success Mataitsane.<\/p>\n<p>Congress of South African Trade Unions\u2019 Patrick Craven said this agreement could be a turning point.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope that this will mean that we can now focus on importing the quality and we hope that the private sector will take note of the increase.\u201d<br \/>\n(Edited by Clare Matthes)<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stephen Grootes | 6 hours ago JOHANNESBURG &#8211; The National Union of Public Service and Allied Workers (NUPSAW) on Thursday rejected the public sector pay agreement.
