{"id":1941,"date":"2018-08-20T15:51:21","date_gmt":"2018-08-20T13:51:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.nupsaw.org.za\/?p=1941"},"modified":"2019-07-08T16:17:25","modified_gmt":"2019-07-08T14:17:25","slug":"strike-at-the-national-lotteries-commission-nlc-head-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nupsaw.org.za\/index.php\/2018\/08\/20\/strike-at-the-national-lotteries-commission-nlc-head-office\/","title":{"rendered":"Strike at the National Lotteries Commission (NLC) Head Office"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the Trade Union NUPSAW are in the midst of a full-blown strike at the Head Office of the National Lotteries Commission (previously known as the Lottery Board) in Pretoria.<\/p>\n<p>The strike is the result of a salary dispute between Labour, namely NUPSAW and NEHAWU and the Employer.<\/p>\n<p>The initial demand for Labour for a salary increase was 12.5% while the initial offer of the Employer was 6%.<\/p>\n<p>Labour\u2019s final demand is 8.5% and the Employer\u2019s final offer is 7.5%.<\/p>\n<p>The two parties couldn\u2019t reach an agreement and were referred to the CCMA as a dispute of mutual interest.<\/p>\n<p>The parties could not resolve the issue on Monday, 13 August 2018, which led to the Commissioner issuing a certificate of non-resolution that gives unions the right to strike.<\/p>\n<p>On 15 August the unions gave the Employer notice to strike which had set off today.
