The National Union of Public Service and Allied Workers invites the media to its planned marches of Dis-Chem employees on Friday, 25 January 2019. These marches will be taking place at the following venues:<\/p>\n
1. NUPSAW Mpumalanga will be marching to Dis-chem warehouse (CJ Williams).<\/p>\n
2. NUPSAW Gauteng is marching to JSE.<\/p>\n
3. while Western Cape will be having a follow-up march on Wednesday, the 23 January 2019, to Central Police station and to the Department of Labour.<\/p>\n
This follows NUPSAW\u2019s national strike at Dis-Chem Pharmacies that commenced on the 16th November 2018 and still ongoing. The strike was due to the employer\u2019s intransigence displayed in the discussion for a minimum living wage of R12 500 across the board, housing allowance, transport allowance and guaranteed annual bonuses.<\/p>\n
NUPSAW yielded a certificate which permits our members the right to embark on a protected strike to express our demands and concerns<\/p>\n
