The National Union of Public Service and Allied Workers (NUPSAW) held Provincial General Councils (PGC) in all the provinces. The PGCs reflected on the current socio- economic factors affecting the workers and the public at large. Amongst other issues discussed, the PGCs country-wide, highlighted issues such as the exploitation of workers by the government, the plight of youth unemployment, high poverty levels and crime rates.
Furthermore, The PGCs saw the presentations of comprehensive reports from the Provincial Leadership on the political overview of the union as well as the state of the organisation over the past twelve month. Delegates were afforded the opportunity to assess, scrutinize and evaluate the union’s performance and growth under the current provincial office bearers. Also as part of the presentations were audited financial statements, recommend amendments of union’s policy and constitution.
All the PGCs were attended by National Office Bearers led by the union’s President Titus Daniso and the General Secretary Solly Malema. The first province to host their PGC was Limpopo.
