NUPSAW LIMPOPO TO MARCH TO THE OFFICE OF THE PREMIER OVER CHW ABSORPTION PROCESS
The National Union of Public Service and Allied Workers (NUPSAW) in Limpopo will march to the office of the Premier to demand transparency on the management of the absorption process of Community Health Workers into permanent workers. The purpose of the march is to highlight the plight of the CHWs and call on the provincial government to extend the absorption to all categories of health care workers and demand a recall of CHWs whose contracts were terminated due to 60 years’ cap, whilst they were expected to do so by 65 years.
This action is motivated by the broader systemic challenges affecting the healthcare system, lack of clear communication and transparency in recruitment and placement processes and delays and inconsistencies in the permanent absorption of Community Health Workers and allegations of unfair labour practices.
Members of the media are invited to the protest march to be convened on the following details:
Date: Thursday, 12 February 2025
Time: 09H00
Venue: Polokwane SABC Park
