On Monday 2 May 2016 with 2500 CCG members, we marched to the National Department of Health in Pretoria accompanied by the former General Secretary of Cosatu and leaders from other trade unions that form part of the new federation, to submit a memorandum of demands. The memorandum was received by Advocate Thomas Ngake on behalf of Dr Aron Motsoeledi, we gave the department 7 days to respond.
- Permanent employment in the public sector of at least level 2
- Stop intimidating and forcing our members to complete a contract of employment that will bind them with an outsourced company called a smart purse.
- Stop the non-payment and delay in their salaries.
- Stop the outsourcing of CCGs to NGOs nationally
- Rights to belong to a trade union by effecting stop order deduction.occupational health and safety committee at the workplace as stated in the occupational health & safety act (act. No. 85 of1993). This legislation provides for more protection for employees as well as the responsibilities of the employer to ensure that the workplace is safe and healthy.
