The National Union of Public Service and Allied workers (NUPSAW) is a union established in August1998 in terms of the Labor Relations Act, 1995. Our scope of operation is in both the Public Service and Private Sector in the entire RSA with our Head Office situated at SUCCESS MATAITSANE House, 17 Iris Street, Heatherdale, Akasia Pretoria, 0182. NUPSAW is admitted to the Public Service Coordinating Bargaining Council (PSCBC) and to major sectoral bargaining councils in the Public
Service. Our primary objective is to promote and protect the interest of our members, i.e. Workers First.

NATIONAL ORGANISER
At Head Office in Pretoria
SALARY: R360 518.40 P/A plus Motor vehicle allowance, housing allowance,
13th cheque, voluntary medical aid and compulsory pension fund scheme
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Supervise the overall Recruitment and Organizing function of the Union
KEY RESULT AREAS
• Ensure Organisers meet recruitment targets and adequately service members
• Coordinate campaigns across provinces
• Prepare monthly reports on recruitment, membership, campaigns and launches
• Monitor the use of Union assets in the possession of Organisers eg Motor vehicles;
laptops etc. Prepare monthly reconciliations on mileage, fuel and service of Union
motor vehicles
• Analyses collective bargaining agreements to develop interpretations of intent, spirit and
terms of contract
• Liaise with bargaining council shop-stewards and other stakeholders at all levels (when
necessary).
• Making sure that all Organisers are operating in uniform, one programme, standard,
policies and procedures across the country. Training Organisers and shop stewards
• Advice management and Union officials in development, application and interpretation
of labor relations policies, procedures and practices.
• Advice the Union with the legality of marches (strike management) and gatherings in
terms of the Gathering Act and time-offs of union shops-stewards in terms of
organizational rights agreement.
• Generally, to do the above mentioned, as they are deemed to be in the interest of
workers.
INHERENT REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
• Three-year National Diploma (NQF 6) / Degree (NQF 7) in / Labour Law / Labour
Relations as recognized by SAQA, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in
Labour related environment.
• Computer literate and ability to use MS Office, Outlook, Excel and Case Management
System.
• Knowledge of Labor Relations legislation.
• Knowledge and experience in negotiation and dispute resolution mechanisms
