NUPSAW READMISSION DELAYED ON PURPOSE

Following our previous Newsflash dated, 02 March 2020. The National Union of Public Service and Allied Workers (NUPSAW) had approached the Labour Court to be reinstated as a party back in the Public Health and Social Development Sectoral Bargaining Council (PHSDSBC) on the 02 December 2019.

Our matter was enrolled for hearing on the Unopposed Roll in the Labour Court  yesterday, 12 March 2020 at 10H00, due to load-shedding the hearing was postponed to 14H00.

NEHAWU has come to state that they have submitted they an intention to oppose our application, which we believe to know they intention is just to frustrate the process and NUPSAW. This prove that there is nothing fairness and without prejudice NEHAWU could claim.

NUPSAW was adamant that the Labour Court would favour our  matter. As always the pure arrogance by NEHAWU in the Labour Court to oppose our application yesterday was just a stunt to delay our re-admission and for our matter not to be heard.

Based on that, the Labour Court has come to say that if a party comes to oppose the application before the matter is heard, that party should be given the opportunity to file its papers.

In light of the above, our matter has therefore been removed from the unopposed to the opposed roll.  Henceforth, NUPSAW is awaiting the date from the Labour Court for when our matter will be heard.

We therefore urge all our members to remain calm as we will keep them posted on further developments in this matter. The battle still continues, as its far from over.
