The National Union of Public Service and Allied Workers (NUPSAW) will be holding its 7th National Congress this weekend in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

The two-day elective congress will commence with an open session on Saturday, 26 February 2022 and conclude with a closed session where the new leadership of the organisation will be elected.

The National Congress as the highest decision making body, will adopt new resolutions.

The Union has grown exponentially over the last 5-year term with membership figures more than doubling in that period.

NUPSAW, a proud affiliate of the South African Federation of Trade Unions (SAFTU) has championed the workers’ struggle both in the public service and the private sector.

We have made a significant headway in the struggle for the permanent employment of community healthcare workers, early childhood development and the extended public works programme staff.

While others provinces are still lagging behind, some have already started implementing parts of our demand for permanent absorption of the CHWs, ECDs and EPWPs

Members of the Media are invited to come and observe the opening session, as the union continue building working class power to change the status quo.
