NUPSAW is a union established in August 1998 in terms of the Labour Relations Act, 1995. Our scope of operation is in both the Public Service and Private Sector in the entire RSA, with our Head Office situated at Success Mataitsane House, 17 Iris street, Heatherdale, Akasia , Pretoria 0182. NUPSAW is admitted to the PSCBC and to major sectoral Bargaining Councils in the Public Service. Our primary objective is to promote and protect the interest of our members, i.e. Workers First.

PERSONAL ASSISTANT INTERNSHIP TO THE GENERAL SECRETARY
2025-2026 AT NUPSAW HEAD OFFICE, PRETORIA.

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
This role is essential for maintaining smooth operations, as it involves coordinating meetings, and handling various tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to advance their careers within an administrative role in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
The Internship is for 24 months. The Intern will receive a monthly stipend of R5 000.00 which will be paid by the ETDP-SETA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 Complex Diary Management: Manage a constantly changing schedule, ensuring the General secretary’s is always where they need to be, with all materials prepared.
 Travel Coordination: Arrange detailed travel plans, including flights, accommodations, transfers, and itinerary changes at short notice (both local and international).
 Project Support: Assist in the management and execution of high-priority projects and tasks, tracking progress and deadlines.
 Communication Gatekeeper: Screen and manage communications, handle email correspondence, and ensure the G’S focus remains on high-impact tasks.
 Problem-Solving: Handle any issues that may arise with speed and precision, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
 Administrative Tasks: Prepare reports, presentations, and handle any admin duties that enable the G’S to focus on strategic goals. Typing, compiling and preparing reports, presentations and correspondence
 Organize and maintain files, records, and documentation related to the G’S’s activities. Assist in developing and implementing processes and systems to improve operational efficiency.
 Note-taking: Taking meeting minutes and keeping track of important paperwork
 Event Planning: Assist in planning staff and team events to enhance team cohesion.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
 A National diploma or advanced certificate in Business Management/Office Administration equivalent to NQF level 6. (This requirement is a must)
 Logical thinking and decision-making skills;
 Ability to prioritise activities and adjust work schedules in need;
 Excellent time management skills;
 Good communication skills and writing skill
 Results orientated, energetic and productive;
