NUPSAW is a union established in August 1998 in terms of the Labour Relations Act, 1995. Our scope of operation is in both the Public Service and Private Sector in the entire RSA, with our Head Office situated at Success Mataitsane House, 17 Iris street, Heatherdale, Akasia , Pretoria 0182. NUPSAW is admitted to the PSCBC and to major sectoral Bargaining Councils in the Public Service. Our primary objective is to promote and protect the interest of our members, i.e. Workers First.

                LEGAL INTERNSHIP 2025-2026 AT NUPSAW HEAD OFFICE, PRETORIA.

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

The Intern will support the Legal team in ensuring that the UNION adheres to all relevant regulations, policies, and legislative requirements. The Internship is for 24 months. The Intern will receive a monthly stipend of R5 000.00 which will be paid by the ETDP-SETA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in drafting legal pleadings, briefs, legal correspondence, documentation, and other materials;
  • Preparing memorandum and correspondence to members and other parties
  • Assist in conducting and coordinating research into a range of legal issues;
  • Assist in providing legal opinion on various labour matters
  • Assist and provide guidance to Provincial Organisers attending labour disputes in the provinces
  • Assist in compiling and providing an updated research based database of case laws
  • Assist in providing legal support to the Secretariat.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • A National diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Law or Dispute resolution equivalent to NQF level 6 (This requirement is a must)
  • Logical thinking and decision-making skills;
  • Ability to prioritise activities and adjust work schedules in need;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Results orientated, energetic and productive;

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST
