The National Union of Public Service and Allied workers (NUPSAW) is a union established in August 1998 in terms of the Labor Relations Act, 1995. Our scope of operation is in both the Public Service and Private Sector in the entire RSA with our Head Office situated at SUCCESS MATAITSANE House, 17 Iris Street, Heatherdale, Akasia Pretoria, 0182. NUPSAW is admitted to the Public Service Coordinating Bargaining Council (PSCBC) and to major sectoral bargaining councils in the Public Service. Our primary objective is to promote and protect the interest of our members, i.e. Workers First.
VACANCY
PROVINCIAL OFFICE MANAGER
At MPUMALANGA PROVINCIAL OFFICE (MBOMBELA)
SALARY: R339 374.40 per annum, Annual bonus, voluntary medical aid, housing
allowance, Union vehicle or vehicle allowance, plus compulsory provident fund scheme.
MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Provincial Office Manager will be responsible for organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
KEY RESULTS AREAS
Ensure adherence to NUPSAW constitutional obligations and objectives.
Ensure compliance to other NUPSAW policy directives such as Finance, HR, resolutions and protocols etc.
Provide strategic direction and leadership in administration in the province
Ensure membership growth is attained and maintained.
Update organizational membership.
Ensure that all cases are recorded and followed up on the Case Management System.
Monitor performance of structures and report to the Provincial Secretary/ National Office Manager.
Supervise, manage and develop performance of staff and compile PMDS reports.
Ensure optimum utilization of organizational resources.
Ensure proper implementation of NUPSAW policies and the constitution.
Ensure preparation of monthly cashflow and Income Statements; Updating Pastel Accounting; Reconciling accounts; Plan and implement office systems and equipment procurement; Maintain and replenish stationery items and inventory where applicable; Verify receipt of supply.
Manage day to day running and functioning of the provincial and regional offices.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB
Recommended knowledge
The incumbent should have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
knowledge of Labour relations Act, BCEA, and other related legislative procedures and/or policies.
Background in trade union activities
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to provide strategic leadership and management to the organization.
Case Management System
Computer literacy
Recommended Personal Attributes
Matric
Post matric qualification combined with Trade Union, financial or administrative experience. Equivalencies will be considered.
Valid driver’s license (minimum Code 8)
At least 3 years’ Trade Union or managerial experience
